WHAT WE DO

Services Offered by Lifetime Advocacy Plus

Trusts

LA+ Trust Managers are qualified to manage many kinds of Trusts and have a long history of managing many complex Trusts, including Special Needs Trusts. This organization developed the very first Special Needs Trusts in the 1960’s and now administers the LA+ Master Pooled Asset Special Needs Trust, a (d)(4)(c) Trust.

LA+ Financial Supports

LA+ manages the Garrett Heyns Benevolent Trust exclusively for the benefit of clients with unmet financial needs. 100% of any donations (made out to Lifetime Advocacy Plus in care of the Garrett Heyns Benevolent Trust) supports clients who may need temporary loans for critical care needs (e.g. a one-time purchase of a special wheelchair). Funds can also be used as a one-time gift to clients.

Conservatorship and Guardianship

Lifetime Advocacy Plus, a federal 501(c)(3) non-profit agency, is uniquely qualified to manage all aspects of complex or simple Guardianships, utilizing interventions that are as least restrictive as possible. LA+ has a strong commitment to protect individual rights, research and apply for resources and programs that are available for each person. Professional staff members specialize in either Guardianship or Conservatorship. Lifetime Advocacy Plus also has a bank of volunteers, with expertise in different aspects of Guardianship and Trusteeship, who consult with staff on a regular basis.

Attorney in Fact

Lifetime Advocacy Plus can serve as Power of Attorney and Durable Power of Attorney, who are responsible for management of assets, medical consent decisions, or other specified duties.

Standby (Peace of Mind) Services

Know we are there to back up a family: Lifetime Advocacy Plus maintains successor records at no cost and stands ready to help at a future time when relatives or friends are no longer able to provide services. LA+ strongly encourages the use of Letters of Intent, letters that accompany a Trust or Guardianship. These letters are typically written by the Trustor, parent or close family member, sharing additional information that can be used by the Trustee/Guardian Representative. These letters can be updated whenever deemed necessary, at no charge.

Individual Consultation

Planning and providing access to resources: Lifetime Advocacy Plus offers professional consultation for families.

Executor/Personal Representative

Lifetime Advocacy Plus serves as a personal representative, conducting the probate of estates as directed by the will and state law.
